Jeremy Callin

Advocate - Mr Callin deals with a wide range of commercial litigation counselling and advisory work as well as most aspects of corporate, company and insolvency law. He also undertakes local government law and finance.

Jeremy Callin is an Advocate, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. Mr Callin was called to the Manx Bar in April 1988 and is a past President of The Isle of Man Law Society. He is also Company Secretary to the Douglas Development Partnership a partnership between Local Government, Central Government and the private sector to improve the Island’s capital. He is Returning Officer for the House of Keys constituency of Douglas North and has served as an Acting Chairman of the Employment Tribunal. Mr Callin is retained by Douglas Corporation the Island’s leading local authority and a number of other authorities. In addition, he has for many years acted for the Joint Administrators of Polly Peck International Plc and has represented the Liquidators of Savings and Investment Bank Limited, the Administrators of BCCI and the Receiver of European Life and Pensions. He has also acted for Isle of Man Bank Limited and acted as lead Isle of Man Counsel for the vendors in the recently completed sale of The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited. Mr Callin was born in Douglas, Isle of Man on the 5th day of July, 1962 and was educated at King Williams College. He was articled to the late Colin Fick and called to the Manx Bar in 1988. He became a Partner in the firm of Kneale Callow in 1988 and has remained a Partner in the successor firms to date. Mr Callin is married with two daughters.
