Jeremy Callin is an Advocate, Notary Public and Commissioner for Oaths. He is the senior partner of Callin Wild LLC. Jeremy was called to the Manx Bar in April 1988. He was President of the Isle of Man Law Society (2005-2007) Vice President (2003-2005) and Council member (2002-2003). He is Company Secretary to the Douglas Development Partnership a partnership between Local Government, Central Government and the private sector to improve the Island’s capital. He is Returning Officer for the House of Keys constituency of Onchan (2009 to date) and former Returning Officer for North Douglas (2005-2009). He is a former Acting Chairman of the Employment Tribunal and is a member of the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal (2007 to date). Jeremy deals with a wide range of commercial and trust litigation (including mediations and arbitrations) together with advisory work including most aspects of corporate, company and insolvency law. He is an international member of the Chancery Bar Association.
He also has a substantial advisory practice in local government law and finance work. Jeremy is retained by Douglas Borough Council the Island’s largest local authority and a number of other authorities. For many years he acted for the Joint Administrators of Polly Peck International Plc and has represented the Liquidators of Savings and Investment Bank Limited, the Administrators of BCCI, the Receiver of European Life and Pensions and the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission. He has also acted for Isle of Man Bank Limited and acted as lead Isle of Man Counsel for the vendors in the sale of The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Limited.
